January 28th to February 3rd: Kabioosi (Theophilus Toppar)
This one is partly African (Yoruba, Nigeria, to be precise) in nature as it refers to God as Kabioosi - the God who is omnipresent. I've loved this song for forever, and it just became prominent again this week as I reflected on the fact that God is present with those who are His children all the time - whether in the good times or the bad. I also was reflecting on the fact that we serve a God who owns the heavens and the earth, He possesses it all! Hallelujah. It is great to reflect on who God is and this is a song that allows that. This version by Theophilus Toppar was the closest to the simple version of the song I love.
